  • It's been so long since I've been on here! I am almost done with my first year of nursing school! At this time next year, I will be looking at graduation and having RN, BSN behind my name. And it will all have been worth it! :)

I still have my Psychosocial Nursing and Child Health Nursing finals on Friday and Monday then I will be done for the semester! I am taking one class this summer but it's online and so will be easy...Medical Terminology.

The week after school is done, I have a friend coming to see me for a week!....i'm so ready to relax and not think about school, just hang out with her and have fun!

Later on, in July, I am planning to attend Faith Builders College Student seminar and retreat one weekend! I am really looking forward to that...meeting people who are in the same place as I am.

And now, I think I will go visit my sister :)

I had a wonderful Christmas vacation spent in PA with Nevin and Ruth and Cory...and the last two days Colton Lane! Was a very relaxing vacation and I was so excited to get to be there when Colton was born! He is adorable...il try to post pics someday!...it was also great being able to spend time with Cory! Thank you so much, Nevin and Ruth for everything!

Now it's back to school full force! This semester I am in Psychosocial Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, and Research 1. Hopefully I will not need to be admitted to the St.Anthony psych ward by May!

Well, gotta go....tons of reading to do for tomorrow!

Here is me again. I realize my grammar makes people think I lie when I say I made an A in all my english classes. o well.

This has been a very long week! Too much too accomplish in a short time! I did pass everything I attempted though lol! I have a nice long list of things to get done before Monday too but it is looking more doable than it did this Monday morning!

I got to actually pack a stage 4 ulcer yesterday! Delightful! For a wound approx 1 inch in diameter, it sure was deep. I put a lot of packing in it! I positively love our wound care/charge nurse! He just tells you what you're going to do and why, gives you the gloves and stuff you need and tells you to go for it! O and lovely of lovelies ~ today I learned how to catheterize people! And passed my mastery on it! (o by the way, don't ever put one of those into me while i'm awake or else!)

I'm looking forward to relaxing a bit more this weekend since for the first time in a long time, I don't have a test or mastery next week! So......................:)

Ok, here are some random pictures ~

    What? Another post?

Well, I'm killing time till I go back to the eye doctor for my follow up on my contacts. I'm very much enjoying being able to walk around and outside etc and really see things, and not from behind frames!

Clinicals today were kind of slow and more full of charts and care plans than anything else...though that's going to be my job I guess...paperwork! I did get to see a skin breakdown that was very interesting though. The poor lady is in terrible pain with it but the family can't agree to send her to the wound specialist even though there's nothing the nursing home can do. Her spine is very visible through the skin all the way down her back but right about in the middle it turned red and is now purplish and continuing to deteriorate. It will continue to do so until the bone actually breaks the skin and protrudes. So sad.

In other school notes, I was seriously stressed out Monday night, feeling like I hadn't prepared anywhere near enough for my first Pharmacology test. But, I guess stressing does pay off because I pulled a 96 out of it...believe me I was one happy student!

I did very much enjoy last weekend....for our dear youth group that often seems lacking in activities....we had volleyball Friday evening with great games, then Saturday night we invaded our youth counselors pasture campfire site by the pond and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows and just hung out :), then Sunday we had youth night at my uncle's and had grilled kabobs and sat around another campfire! Very relaxing....maybe if I ever figure out how to put my pics on I will. Got some funny ones Saturday night .

Well, my brain is tired. So I will sign off before I write something off the wall!

  • Ok. I will update since "somebody" informed me that it is rather pointless to have a site you never update even tho that "somebody" has not a single post!

Life is crazy busy rite now. So far I have managed to pass both of my tests and have the third one coming up on Tuesday...prayers please...this is my first Pharmacology one. I have also managed to not kill any of my patient's in the nursing home. My mother always told me not to make up my mind to never work in a nursing home till I've tried it. Now I have and now I know for sure that is not what I want to do! Most of my clinical group has gotten in on following aides around fixing beds and giving showers and pottying. I have yet to do any of those!  So far I've gotten to help with wound care, vital signs, and passing meds!(helps to be on the hall with the cool nurse lol!)

Well so far I'm surviving it but desperately looking forward to switching to the hospital after fall break!

I have been doing other things besides school but don't have time to expound right now...but hey at least I posted right???? Hopefully I'll be better at posting more often now. Until next time...see ya.

  • Hello again!

I am tremendously enjoying my vacation! Right now I am in Georgia, staying with my wonderful wonderful aunt and uncle and their beautiful children! Its wonderful to just spend time together and spoil sweet little Cheyenne! As soon as I got in the van at the airport and said hi to her she got this huge grin on her face and we hit it right off!

Trevor is quite the energetic young man! But he is very sweet and not afraid to give hugs!

I had an absolutely wonderful afternoon. I got to see my awesome friend Cindy whom I haven't seen in 3 years! Its delightful...we don't talk that often but whenever we do its like we've talked every day...we just pick right back up....and today was just like that again! Bosom friends right from the get go! I luv u girl!

Was also able to see Laban and Rosie again. He was one of the pastors where I attended church when I spent the summer here and she is absolutely the best pastors wife I've ever seen! So much fun and we always had it back and forth! Her boys are a hoot too...so full of it and can come up with the funniest stuff! They have 3 children of their own and adopted 2...the last one is now 3 months old....and they are now expecting another of their own...the youngest two will be 8 months apart! But if anyone can handle it, that woman will! and still have time to harass me lol!

I luv spending time with all these wonderful friends and am looking forward to many more great memories this week! And also to the wedding Saturday....my first cousin on moms side is getting married to my second cousin on dads side....they are not related at all! Small world!

    Well tata for now!
